ARSENAL VS EVERTON: PREVIEW

Richarlison makes his return for Everton as the Toffees travel to London to face Arsenal, a side that has been firing on all cylinders after struggling initially...

Everton has struggled in recent years against the Gunners, with both games last season ending with five goals for them (2-5, 5-1). Arsenal have also won seven out of the last eight meetings between the two sides.

TEAM NEWS:

New signing Lucas Torreira is still a doubt for Arsenal. The new signing has yet to start a Premier League game, and with a lingering knee injury, this is unlikely to happen against Everton.

Sead Kolasinac (knee), Carl Jenkinson (ankle), Laurent Koscielny (achilles) and Ainsley Maitland-Niles (leg) are all still out, leaving very few defensive options apart from the starting four.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang will most likely lead the line again for the hosts, with the Gabon international on excellent form so far this season.

Everton have similar problems, as they have three defenders themselves who are out for the Sunday game. Seamus Coleman (foot), André Gomes (hamstring), Phil Jagielka (knee), Michael Keane (skull) and James McCarthy (leg) are all ruled out.

With one side seeing one of their best players coming back in Richarlison and the other side seeing one of their players being a doubt (Torreira), the managers had a different perspective on Sunday's game at the Emirates.

"He's an important player for us," Everton manager Marco Silva said on Richarlison's return. "He started very well and scored important goals for us. It's very important for us that he's back."

Arsenal manager Unai Emery didn't have a pre-match press conference as Arsenal played in the Europa League on Thursday, but the Spaniard did provide some updates on Torreira's condition after the side's 4-2 victory over Vorskla Poltava.

"I think it was better [for Lucas] to leave the match," Emery explained. "I hope that [Friday] and Saturday, he will be okay [to train] for Sunday."

BETTING ODDS/PREDICTION:

Looking ahead to the game, we think that history will likely repeat itself. Neither side has kept a clean sheet in any competition this season so far, but at least Arsenal are finishing off teams.

The Gunners have won four in a row now across all competitions after their rocky start, and they've averaged three goals in that run.

Everton, who have conceded two goals and a red card in their away games this season, are very unlikely to get a result at the Emirates. Expect them to score, and maybe even take an early lead, but also expect Arsenal to run riot.

With confidence levels at a high at the Emirates, Arsenal will come out gunning (no pun intended), and will probably give Jordan Pickford a good work-out.

Mason Holgate, who will likely fill in for Phil Jagielka, was very exposed against West Ham last week, and with Arsenal's lethal front line, this could get ugly.

Prediction: Arsenal 4-1 Everton

Arsenal win: 1/2

Draw: 17/4

Everton win: 25/4
