Ranieri replaced the sacked Slaviska Jokanovic earlier this week, following Fulham's woeful start to the season - leaving them bottom of the Premier League.

The Italian manager has not managed in England since being sacked by Leicester City in 2017, following the most surprising Premier League season of all time.

Ranieri is now into his third spell in England, managing Leicester and Chelsea before them.

"I'm very happy to come back to the home of football," Ranieri said. "Every challenge I've had has given me fighting spirit. I remember at Parma, we had the same situation and we saved the team.

"It is important to change something. Fulham conceded a lot of goals. I am an Italian manager and for us Italians, it is important to maintain a clean sheet.

"I always look forward. I believe we have good players, but I must choose the players who show me fighting spirit.

"It's important to be ready, together. I repeat: together. The players, the fans. Together."
