REPORT: Fulham 0-2 Man City

Manchester City have returned to the summit of the Premier League as they comfortably beat struggling Fulham at Craven Cottage.

Bernardo Silva and Sergio Aguero both scored early goals, as City never really broke a stride in South West London.

City got off to the perfect start in London, with Bernardo Silva finding some space at the edge of the box, before arrowing a low shot into the bottom corner.

There were suggestions of offside with David Silva perhaps blocking Sergio Rico's view of the ball, but Kevin Friend deemed the goal fine.

The champions were dominant in the opening 10 minutes or so, and it could have easily been 2-0, with Kevin de Bruyne having a couple of efforts saved by Rico.

Fulham began to grow into the encounter after a torrid opening 15 minutes, but never really threatened Ederson in the visitors' goal.

But unfortunately for Scott Parker's side, Bernardo Silva was on fire and he picked out Aguero after an awful back-pass from Joe Bryan. That was intercepted by the Portugal winger, who then found the Argentina forward, and the Premier League's top scorer added to his tally with a delightful chipped finish.

Aguero's strike was the striker's 19th league goal of the season - taking him above the likes of Mohamed Salah, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Harry Kane - who all have 18.

Raheem Sterling was bright in the first-half and he thought he should have had a penalty, with Timothy Fosu-Mensah bringing the winger down, but Friend again shook his head.

For the second-half, it was more of a case of avoiding humiliation for Fulham, against a City side - who, on their day, can hit five against anyone in the division.

But the situation for City was all about game-management; trying to see the game out without being at full-throttle.

However, one negative out of the match for Pep Guardiola's side was the departure of Aguero - who seemed to limp off with an injury early into the second period.

De Bruyne managed to complete the majority of the match, following his return from injury, with another man, Fernandinho (replacing KDB), returning to action after an injury as well.

Kyle Walker had City's best opportunity of the second-half, cannoning a strike onto the post, after some great play on the right side.

Fulham never stood a chance, and their fans have accepted the fact they are going back down to the Championship next season, and were enjoying themselves at the Cottage.
