Liverpool come from behind to beat Southampton at St. Mary's to once again reclaim top spot in the Premier League.
Mohamed Salah ended his eight-game goal drought to score Liverpool's second, with Jordan Henderson coming off the bench to score the final goal of the match.
Naby Keita finally opened his Reds account with an equaliser in the first-half, after Shane Long gave Southampton an early advantage.
Liverpool have now reclaimed top spot of the league table, with Manchester City on FA Cup duty this weekend.
Keita was perhaps a surprise inclusion in Jurgen Klopp's starting team, with the Guinea midfielder making his first start in eight league matches.
Adam Lallana was omitted from the squad through a minor muscle injury, and Nathan Redmond made his 100th Premier League appearance for Southampton.
Liverpool knew that only a victory would take them back above Manchester City at St. Mary's and they had the worst possible start.
Long gave Southampton an early lead, finding himself in a great position after a Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg flick from a Ryan Bertrand delivery.
Virgil van Dijk came across but couldn't get to the ball, the Dutchman and Joel Matip left far too much space for the Saints' attackers.
Southampton were on top and in truth, Liverpool looked rattled. Long had another chance via another Bertrand cross, but couldn't make connection.
Liverpool's performance in the opening 20 minutes or so was poor and their build-up was too slow - much like last week's performance against Tottenham.
But the Reds eventually equalised through an unlikely source in Keita, who headed in a Trent Alexander-Arnold cross on the right-hand side.
It was Keita's first goal for Liverpool since his £50m move from RB Leipzig last summer, and what a time to get it!
Klopp's men were back in the game and the sides went in all-square at St. Mary's with all to play for in the second-half.
Southampton once again started the half the stronger of the two teams, but failed to really test the Liverpool defence and goalkeeper.
Klopp made two substitutions on the hour-mark, with Alexander-Arnold and Georginio Wijnaldum being replaced by James Milner and Henderson.
The pair coming on may have raised some eyebrows, but the impact of both - especially the latter - was massive.
Henderson's header allowed Salah to get away on a speedy counter-attack, Roberto Firmino to his left, but the Egyptian only had one thing in mind, and found the bottom corner past Angus Gunn.
The game had been turned on its head and any chance of a Southampton fightback were quickly eliminated when Firmino found Henderson, who couldn't miss.
In the end, 3-1 was harsh on Southampton, who were excellent and really did run Liverpool all the way. But the Reds keep finding a way to win. Two points clear, once again.
THE MANAGERS
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp described the 3-1 result as "perfect" as his side continued their fine form to overtake City.
"I knew it would be difficult. Southampton have been well-organised. We scored two wonderful goals," Klopp explained.
"This season is intense for everyone. You have an opportunity to make really good changes - Milner and Henderson helped. They were aggressive in a really important way. You could see them pushing the boys.
"Southampton had to suffer in the second-half because of the first-half tempo. Difficult away game, 3-1 is a perfect result.
"What a goal (from Salah). He couldn't pass because Firmino couldn't get into the right position. The defender could not concentrate on Mo. Wow, what a goal! A good moment. Naby Keita's first goal for the club in a crucial moment."
Southampton manager Ralph Hasenhuttl called on his team to pay more attention in future, as they squandered a 1-0 lead.
"The first goal was offside and the second we did not react well. We cannot make such a mistake from this position," the Austrian said.
"They have a counter from our shot and it was too easy. We showed in the second-half, we are brave and we wanted to win the game.
"We have to pay attention and not fear the moment. The team believes, that is important, and know now that teams are coming where we must take points."
