REPORT: Wolves 2-1 Man Utd

Wolves came from a goal down to edge the 10 men of Manchester United by a single goal at Molineux.

Goals from Diogo Jota and an own goal from Chris Smalling cancelled out Scott McTominay's first-half opener for United.

Ashley Young was sent off in the second-half, after picking up two yellow cards to make Ole Gunnar Solksjaer's team a very difficult task.

United are in fifth-place, level on points with fourth-place Tottenham and two points below Arsenal - who are in third.

It was a very bright start for the Red Devils - with Jesse Lingard and Romelu Lukaku both testing Rui Patricio early on.

They were rewarded for their positive start when McTominay picked the ball up just outside the box and smashed the ball in for his first ever Premier League goal.

But Wolves, who have been so impressive in their first season back in the top-flight of English football, weren't to be denied for long.

Joao Moutinho robbed Fred of possession and Raul Jimenez picked up the loose ball and slid the ball through to his strike-partner Jota, who made no mistake and slotted the ball past David de Gea.

Wolves were the team on-top all of a sudden, and Matt Doherty managed to find a good position in the box before finding Leander Dendocker, but the Belgian couldn't find a shot on target.

Lukaku had a chance just before the half-time break but the striker could only drag his shot wide of the Wolves post.

As the second-half started, the game turned. Young caught Jota too late and the United skipper was shown a second yellow and the visitors were a man-down.

It wasn't long after when Wolves took the lead for the first time of the game. Smalling could only turn Moutinho's dangerous cross into his own net and that turned out to be the winning goal for the home side.

Nuno Espirito Santo had another famous victory to his name in his first season in the Premier League with Wolves.
