SOUTHAMPTON PREVIEW: WOLVES (A)

Southampton remain on the road this weekend as they travel to an inform Wolves side.

The Saints are in a real need for a result in this one after picking up just one win so far this season following their first six matches.

As for Wolves, they have performed well following their promotion last season claiming some impressive results which include, draws against Manchester City and Manchester United.

This is the first meeting between the sides in league football since Saints promotion to the Premier League back in 2012, although the pair did meet last season in the Carabao Cup with Wolves picking up a 2-0 victory.

Unlike Wolves, the visitors have had a full week of preparation for this one due to their Carabao Cup tie being put back a week while Wolves lost to Leicester City on penalties.

Saints away form on the whole, has been mixed with two wins and two defeats coming on their travels in all competitions so far.

The hosts have a number of top quality players which Saints will need to wary of, in particular Ruben Neves and Joao Moutinho who have been particularly impressive in the Wolves midfield.

TEAM NEWS:

Saints are set to welcome back striker Danny Ings after he was unable to play against his parent club, Liverpool last weekend.

Fellow striker Shane Long is likely to miss this one after not training all week struggling with a toe injury.

As for Wolves, they are at a full bill of health and have a fully fit squad to choose upon for this one.

HUGHES' COMMENTS:

The Saints boss, Mark Hughes has been giving his thoughts ahead of this one, wary of the dangers which the hosts could cause his side this weekend.

“The way they play is different – it's really expansive, they have a lot of width and a lot of depth to their play, so it's quite difficult to get pressure on them in good areas," Hughes said.

PREDICTION:

This should be an exciting match between two pretty evenly match sides, but I feel that the Saints will just edge out the hosts in this one.

I feel that the Saints will pick up a much needed three points in this one, winning by 2-1.
