Van Dijk backs "world-class" Salah

Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk has backed the "world-class" Mohamed Salah as he continues to misfire in front of goal.

Salah hasn't scored for the Reds in his last seven games, but last season's top scorer still has 20 goals to his name in all competitions.

The 26-year-old is one goal away from 50 in the Premier League for Liverpool in just his second season at Anfield.

Speaking to the club's official website, van Dijk, who has just reported for international duty with the Netherlands, said it won't be too long until the "world-class" Salah starts firing again.

"Mo is a world-class player. People can say all they want but I think all the teams in the Premier League would love to have him in their side.

"We have him and I think he is playing well. The goals will come.
"That's something for a striker that is maybe going to be in your head but we tell him every time: you just need to keep working, keep going and you'll be fine."
