WEST HAM UNITED 0-4 MAN CITY: REPORT

A dominant Manchester City have ensured they will stay top of the Premier League for another week with a 4-0 win over West Ham United.

First-half goals from David Silva, Raheem Sterling and Leroy Sane made sure the game was virtually over before the break.

Sane added another in the second-half to wrap off a fantastic afternoon for the champions.

HOW IT HAPPENED -

City were in front very early on in London when Silva scored from close-range from a Sterling cross.

Pep Guardiola's wide men of Sterling and Sane combined for the second goal with the former tapping in from close-range.

Sterling then returned the favour to the German international - who is in fine form for club and country - and he showed wonderful composure to add City's third.

City's urgency wasn't there in the second-half, and with the game all but over, it was hard to see why they would put 100% effort on the field.

Even with the less than spectacular performance from the visitors in the second-half, West Ham never looked like scoring.

In the 94th minute, Leroy Sane rounded off a rampant Manchester City performance. Gabriel Jesus crossed to Sane who powered the ball past Lucasz Fabianski for four.

THE MANAGERS -

Manuel Pellegrini: "I'm happy with a lot of things but very disappointed with the result. Not because we lost 4-0 against Man City because you can lose against them, but the goals they scored are not acceptable.

"When you concede four goals you cannot win a game but we had as many chances as they had. We played in a way I think this time must continue to play in in every single game."

Pep Guardiola: "We are delighted because after the international break that is a typical game. You can drop point after the international break for sure because the players train in another way, in another style and with another manager.

"They came back not at the same level as we normally have and that's why I'm so satisfied for the victory but the performance could be better."
